When photographers think of my country they think of windmills, Amsterdam and tulips. These are generally the most photographed subjects in the Netherlands. What they don’t know is that my country turns purple in August. It usually starts mid or early Augusts and ends till the end of August. It turns a lot of areas completely purple. What am I talking about? The heather plants. Compare it to the France Lavender fields that start a couple of weeks earlier in July....

Can you imagine paying to see Instagram Stories? Well, the option is just around the corner. After some reports from earlier this year, it looks like Instagram is now just a step away from launching its own paid subscription service. App store analysts Sensor Tower and AppTopia have spotted “Instagram Subscriptions” within the US app. It’s nested under in-app purchases, with prices ranging from $0.99 to $4.99. Still, it’s not quite clear what this feature includes....

According to The Verge, it seems that Instagram are testing out a bunch of new features. Amongst them, there’s slow-motion video for Stories, Story reactions, and a mute button. It seems that we may also soon be able to tag Facebook friends on Instagram posts. The new features being tested look to have been discovered by Twitter user, Jane Manchun Wong. Wong has posted a number of screenshots showing some of these new features in action....

Jack White may not like photos of him being taken at concerts, but apparently – he is a fan of photography. The famous singer has opened a photo lab in Nashville, offering a variety of photo printing and film processing services. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRzpWyL9WqI White has opened Third Man Photo Studio within the facilities of his record label Third Man Records. The lab processes black and white, color negative and transparency film, and offers hand-printing services....

We have reported before that Kodak could bring their Ektachrome film back this year. As the end of 2017 approaches, we’re anxious to hear the news regarding this launch. According to a comment they posted on Twitter, they’ll be officially launching a limited amount of the film at the beginning of 2018. Judging from the tweet from the official Kodak’s profile, they could have a supply of the film available for testing by the end of this year....
