Nikon has just announced the Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S, a previously teased telephoto lens for its mirrorless line of cameras. Not only with its foal length, but also AF performance and image stabilization, this lens is designed with sport and wildlife photographers in mind. And judging from the specs, they are going to like it. Nikon put this lens on its roadmap way back in November 2020. Back then, it was expected that the company would announce three new Z-mount lenses by the end of 2022, and it looks like they’ve made an early start....

Made in 1948, this Nikon I rangefinder camera, serial number 60924, represents the oldest known surviving production model Nikon in the world. The very first Nikon I held the serial number 60922, making this the third Nikon camera of all time off the production line. It is one of two cameras made in 1948 still known exist, and it has gone up for auction at WestLicht Photographica. It’s an incredible piece of history, and not one that many of us are likely to afford, short of selling our homes....

Looking at the new Panasonic Lumix DC-TS7 reminds me a lot of my high school days before GoPro was even around. Waterproof point-and-shoot cameras were cool back in the mid-2000s, but is this newest point-and-shoot offering by Panasonic still worth buying today? With a few new features such as 4K video, optical image stabilization, built-in wifi and Geotagging support, it’s at least worth taking a closer look. The demand for point-and-shoot cameras has significantly dropped since the advent of smartphones and action cameras....

Pergear has launched their new 10mm f/8 fisheye pancake lens. It’s available in an array of APS-C mounts including Fuji X, Sony E and Nikon Z as well as Micro Four Thirds. It has a fixed f/8 aperture as well as a focus with a range of only 30cm up to infinity. It’s a tiny lens measuring a mere 55mm x 10mm, weighing only 80g and it’s designed specifically for mirrorless cameras....

Can photography change the world? This is the question I often ask myself, and I am not the only one.
