Almost everybody who’s into video dreams of one day shooting on an ARRI Alexa. But actually owning one is pure fantasy for most of us. Not for Adam Harig, though, who spotted an eBay auction for five ARRI Alexa cameras on eBay one day and put in an offer. There was only one snag, these ARRI Alexa cameras weren’t working and were in various states of… deconstruction, with a part missing here and there....

Looks like stabilizing gimbals are moving from being categorised as pro gear and are being commoditized. And a prime example of this would be this Hello Kitty camera phone gimbal. I am not sure what is the motivation behind this but if I had to take a wild guess, I would say that the marketing director has small kids. Either way, this 2-Axis gimbal feature 2 Axis stabilization, a -45 to +225 degrees tilt axis, and a -60 to +240 degrees roll axis....

We’ve featured quite a few creative music videos here on DIYP, and the latest one that grabbed our attention was shot for a song There’s a Weight by Lake and Lyndale. Other than being filmed at a single take, the whole video was also shot in reverse. The singer Channing Marie had to learn the lyrics backwards, and the result is a trippy, fun video with perfect lip-synching. The video features Channing walking and singing, while the guys from the band throw paint, confetti, feathers and water on her – backwards....

Well, it looks like we’ve reached the stage of 2020 when sharing a selfie could end up in getting arrested or paying a massive fine. A UK photographer recently posted a selfie which proved that she had broken the self-isolation order. Consequently, she was ordered to pay £6,600 (around $8,530) after sharing the photo on Instagram. A photography student who shall remain unnamed flew from Manchester to her home in Jersey on 12 October....
