You may remember Hungarian photographer Lampert Benedek and his fun LEGO photo series. While heavy snow is covering my hometown, I noticed Lampert’s image of a car caught in a snow blizzard. But seeing a BTS image made me realize: it’s not really a car, and it’s not even real snow! Lampert makes some awesome photos of fast cars, but he uses toys, practical effects, and some clever ideas to make them look real....

I’m a sucker for old glass. Whether for stills or video, I’ve always been a big believer that the lens plays a massive part in getting “the film look”. It’s why I often shoot video and stills with old M42 and Nikon Ai-S lenses. Older glass just has character that modern lenses do not. Modern lenses are too perfect, too clinical. Of course, it’s not really floating, it’s an optical illusion. Painted on a road in the fishing town of Ísafjörður in Iceland, the crossing appears to float in the air. At least, that’s how it appears to drivers coming up the road. It’s sure to make those who haven’t seen it before think twice before speeding through it, especially if people are waiting to cross. Well, many of them, at least....

It’s named Lens vs. Lens and it helps you when you can’t decide between two (or more) lenses. It compares the photos taken with different lenses, at various focal lengths and apertures.
