We’ve seen some splendid photos taken from the International Space Station. They’re out of this world (quite literally) regardless of the gear, so just imagine what they would be like if astronomers used fancy ultra-high-resolution cameras. Well, you don’t need to imagine. The recent NG-18 mission sent state-of-the-art immersive camera gear to the ISS. It’s the highest-resolution camera system ever launched to the space station and will bring us an immersive experience at the MSG Sphere venues here on Earth....

Profoto has updated the Profoto Camera app with a completely new design that they say was rebuilt from the ground up. Designed to allow you to shoot photos on your smartphone using Profoto lights. Available for iOS and a limited number of Android devices, it offers a lot of new features over the previous basic manual camera app, including ProfotoRAW, a new AirX Smart-TTL algorithm, more accurate white and colour balance, faster response time and more....

Advertisements This year, The Photographer of the Year title is awarded to Pablo Albarenga from Uruguay for his series Seeds of Resistance. Other than the flattering title, he will also receive the accompanying $25,000 prize. Albarenga’s series explores the bond between the defenders and their lands – a sacred area in which hundreds of generations of their ancestors rest. In the photographs, the main characters in the stories are seen from above, as though they are laying down their lives for their territory....

With the discontinuation of Type 100 film by pretty much everybody, with the final nail in the coffin coming from Fuji in 2016, finding film for your old Polaroid 100-400 Land Camera became pretty impossible unless you wanted to spend an absolute fortune on eBay. There has been at least one attempt to revive the format, in the form of One Instant, but it’s also pretty expensive and appears to have been sold out for quite a while now....
