I guess we already know that people will pull all sorts of ridiculous stunts to get Instagram likes. Well, locals in Thailand are aware of that too and some of them have started a pretty quirky business. They spook away pigeons near Tha Pae Gate, an ancient wall and popular tourist attraction in Chiang Mai. They scare flocks of pigeons so they fly through the frame and make tourists’ Instagram photos at least 30% likable....

It appears that Canon is set to discontinue the Canon EOS M6 Mark II. There’s been no official announcement, of course, although there never really is when Canon discontinues a product. They only make a big song and dance when new products are announced. But Canon Rumors says they’ve received reports from two different countries that the Canon EOS M6 Mark II, released in 2019, has been discontinued. If true, and with no Mark III successor announced, this is possibly the strongest signal so far that Canon does indeed intend to kill off the EOS M line and create an APS-C version of their RF mount mirrorless system....

What do you do when you shoot in the harsh wind? Well, photographer Mathieu Stern learned it the hard way that he should add weight to the tripod when it’s windy. Although he has quite a collection of cheap vintage lenses, the wind managed to tip over the tripod with his camera and an $800 Sony E 10-18mm f/4 lens. Since he was shooting the video at that moment, he accidentally captured the unfortunate event, too....

There have been rumours for a while, but now GoPro has officially announced the new GoPro Hero8 Black. Don’t get too excited, though, not much has changed in the camera itself since its predecessor. It does see a bump in max bitrate, though, going from the Hero7’s 78Mbps to 100Mbps for 4K footage. There’s also a new GoPro MAX 360° camera, follow up to the not-terribly-popular GoPro Fusion. When it comes to the technical differences, there are a few, but not many....

The Nikon Z5 camera is almost here. Rumours of a July announcement came last month, and now we’re only four days away from the expected July 21st announcement. And while some of the previously rumoured lenses aren’t now expected to be announced at the same time, we will apparently be hearing about one, the Nikkor Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 and a couple of teleconverters. With the announcement this close, it’s no surprise that serial-leaker, Nokishita has managed to uncover the specs for the upcoming camera, and they’ve posted them to their platform of choice, Twitter....
