If you just want to shoot from the waist then this is a tutorial for you. The idea spans around taking a Canon EOS M200 (or a similar camera with a tilting screen) and adding a wedge-shaped piece of wood (40x55x800mm). As the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has come closer to general release, I’ve started pushing myself to break away from Premiere Pro and really learn how to use DaVinci Resolve as an editor. I’m at the point where I know just enough to be dangerous, but I’ve still got a lot to learn. One of the things I’ve wanted to learn is multicam editing. You know what it’s like, you’re walking through the local dollar store (or pound shop, for those in the UK) and you see some interesting looking cheap LED lights. So, you buy a bunch of them and turn them into a DIY LED panel. At least, what’s what Dave Knop (AKA, Knoptop) did, and it only cost him $13. Each light takes three AAA batteries (as Dave found out after he’d bought a crapload of AAs), and they’re attached to the baking tray using little velcro strips that come supplied with each light....
This is quite interesting, and not something I’ve come across before, although it appears the idea has been out for a little while now. As more users are starting to use Linux on the desktop, they’re starting to turn to GIMP for some of their photo editing needs (after all, Adobe doesn’t do Linux). It’s a somewhat unfamiliar interface if you’re coming from Photoshop, but this GIMP patch could make life a little easier....
