The body camera footage from Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Shaw has been released showing the moment he shot New Carlisle News photographer, Andy Grimm. Grimm had left work to cover a lightning storm when he pulled over to photograph a traffic stop. Seemingly mistaking Grimm’s camera and tripod for a gun, Shaw shot at Grimm twice without warning. The first shot grazed Grimm’s shoulder, and the second went through his torso....

Whether hardware or software, Open Source is a wonderful thing. Open Source doesn’t always mean free, though, especially when it comes to hardware. According to pttl.gr, Fujifilm has leaked themselves, posting all of the upcoming Instax Mini 40 on the Instax website site a little early. Expected to be announced on April 7th, it looks like somebody was a little too eager with that publish button. The content has been removed from the Instax website now, although screenshots were captured by the folks at pttl. Fujifilm has been teasing the camera on Instagram for a few days now, although there’s no word on a price yet....

It may be DXOMark’s highest scoring mobile device camera ever, but the Google Pixel is not without its photographic flaws. Quite a few users have reported getting flare or “halo effect” issues with their camera when it’s not even in the shot. The thing with lens flare, though, is that it’s a physical hardware issue. This is why DSLR and mirrorless lenses come with hoods. They block the light from entering the lens and reflecting inside the optics causing flare....
