Fujifilm GFX 50R is the upcoming rumored “affordable” medium format camera. It’s expected to be officially announced on 25 September, but here’s a little something ahead of the event. Apparently accurate sketches of the camera have leaked, so you can take a peek at how it might look a few days before the expected announcement. According to Fuji Rumors, the handmade sketches come from their “top trusted Japanese source.” You can see how the camera is supposed to look on the front and the back, and the first photo of the camera leaked around two weeks ago as well....

We thought with the Sony A6500 that the overheating issue days with Sony would be over, but apparently not. Eterprising user, Brian Windle, over on Thingiverse, however, has developed a solution. It’s a 3D printed bracket that houses a couple of USB-powered fans to blow cool air onto the back of the camera underneath the LCD. The bracket clips onto the Sony A7III eyepiece and then holds two 5v 30mm Raspberry Pi fans, wired in parallel, down below the back of the camera body beneath the LCD....

I thought that I can’t think of a better Halloween costume for a photographer than a huge camera. But Yohei Shimada took it to a higher level: his Halloween costume is a working Canon DSLR that takes actual photos. Shimada goes by name @cameraaman on Twitter, where he shared a couple of photo of his costume, as well as the photos he took with it. He was actually the human-sized camera for last year’s Halloween, but the short video where he shows it off has only recently got wildly popular on Reddit....

There are plenty of epic astrophotos that were taken from Earth. Sometimes even from a photographer’s backyard. Astronomer Jean-Luc Dauvergne visited Pic du Midi observatory in the French Pyrenees and took some photos of Mars. As a result, he created “the best global map of Mars” shot from the surface of our planet. Pic du Midi Observatory has four telescopes. The construction of the observatory began way back in 1878, but due to financial difficulties, it wasn’t finished before 1908....
