This is why we made the best DIY ring flash in existence and sold it for a low price of $35 (including a flash bracket). Alas, all good things must end, and once the current batch of rings lights runs out, we will not make another. On the other hand, I see that many photographers still do not have a ring flash....
Getty Images has announced that it will become a publicly-traded company on the US stock market. The company was valued at an enterprise value of $4.8 billion, and it’s going to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “GETY.” The story behind Getty’s going public is that it has entered into a business combination agreement with CC Neuberger Principal Holdings II. It was formed through a partnership between CC Capital and Neuberger Berman, and it’s now Getty’s parent company that’s actually going public rather than Getty itself....
The Gitzo Légende tripod and backpack teased last week has now been officially announced. In what might be a strange turn for a company like Gitzo, the new kit is being launched via Indiegogo. Unlike a lot of crowdfunding platform campaigns, though, given who’s running this one, I think we can be pretty sure this one will deliver. The Légende is a 2-part kit, comprised of a lightweight carbon fibre tripod and backpack....
The last thing you want to do when testing out some equipment, especially when surrounded by your peers at the CineGear expo, is to drop a $70,000 Arri Alexa XT, but that’s exactly what one person did while checking out the NBStabilizer rig recently. A number of social media commentators are putting this down to user error, letting the camera get too far while simultaneously leaning away from it, and I’m inclined to agree, but it still doesn’t instil much confidence with this particular stabilization rig....
The Loupedeck+ is a fantastic piece of kit. As soon as it was released, it was already a nice little upgrade over the original Loupedeck with a more solid design, better buttons and knobs, and the promise of future software support. Now it supports a growing array of software with more still to come. But the Loupedeck+ still has one issue for some people. It sits too flat on the table....
