Take Your Light Painting Game To The Next Level With These Unconventional Techniques

Light painting is typically done one of two ways. Either you have a flashlight and wave it around your scene from behind the camera to light up your subject over time or you have the light source actually in the scene and you’re creating a long exposure of its movements. But there are many light sources besides flashlights that you can use for light painting. In this video from COOPH, we take a look at five ways to paint with light....

The Godox Xpro P Flash Trigger Is A Game Changer For Pentax Photographers

I’ve reviewed the Godox XPro trigger before, a little over a year ago. Normally, I wouldn’t review the same product again just because it comes out with compatibility for a different camera system. My original review was with the XPro-C, but I didn’t review the XPro-N, XPro-F, XPro-S or XPro-O. So why am I posting a review of the XPro-P for Pentax? Or might it also be that vacationers with expensive i-thingies are just as concerned about the ravages of sand, salt water, ketchup, and French fries as I am when it comes to my “camera-cameras”…the kind that don’t receive robo-calls or get texted upon in deplorable corruptions of the English language....

This Algorithm Creates Realistic Video From A Single Photo

Researchers at the University of Washington have developed a deep learning method that only needs a single photo to make a believable video. If you have a photo of a waterfall, a river, smoke, or clouds, it predicts the previous and the next frame and creates a pretty cool animation. The team described their method in a paper and will present it at the Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition on 22 June....
